What is Alchemy?

Updated: Aug 14, 2023

alchemy is the ancient art of transformation ~ for example to change base metals into gold; when you transform spiritually, you are discovering your innate gold within - your self worth, inner wisdom and perfection and reclaiming your authentic power;

in the old days, there was no division seen between spiritual and physical practices, but for the sake of modern obsession with duality, alchemy can be divided into two types;

practical alchemy is chemistry, studying and manipulating the properties of matter to get what you want out of the universe;

spiritual alchemy is self improvement, clearing the impure, unenlightened states of spirit to reach the "gold" spiritual perfection which always exists within, but may have been blocked or hidden;

it is not just floating away with the fairies above the myre; it is delving deep into the shadow self to clear out the darkness which brings us en-lighten-ment - literally bringing light into the mind;

“Why do we have to listen to our hearts?" the boy asked.

"Because, wherever your heart is, that is where you will find your treasure.”

~ Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

the word alchemy comes from the arabic meaning divine chemistry, also known as the black art and the golden elixir;

it is when consciousness can shift matter, it is nature interacting with art - and demonstrates our ability to enhance and improve on nature;

alchemy is the science of ascension, it is base metal ascended to its highest expression eg gold; so to spiritualise matter and to materialise spirit;

humans are carbon-based lifeforms and through alchemy they become crystalline, it is the transformation of our soul or essence through alchemy;

our consciousness filters through sulphur which is the soul, mercury which is the spirit

and salt which is the physical body; and it is filtered through the elements earth air fire water and metal;

alchemy is the art of doing to nature to perfect the evolutionary process - it is purification and it is the physical representation of consciousness i.e water; the metaphysical representation of water is astral waters, emfs or ether and we are the manifestation of the ether i.e water.

“We are travellers on a cosmic journey,stardust,swirling and dancing in the eddies and whirlpools of infinity. Life is eternal. We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share. This is a precious moment. It is a little parenthesis in eternity.”

~ Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist
